My wife and I started attending Redeemer 5 years ago. We were amazed at how many “normal” New Yorkers attended, and how moving the Sunday services were. After a year, we became members and started hosting a Community Group. A year later, I became a Deacon where I was able to work with and assist the poor and marginalized. A year after that, I joined the downtown staff as the Operations and Volunteers Manager and helped launch our new congregation.
I think it’s safe to say that we love our church and how God is using us in New York City. Redeemer has helped us understand our purpose here. We are imperfect humans living in a city that can be both inspirational and cruel at the same time. Through Redeemer, we have learned that we’re all in the same boat, and we have a God that loves us and wants to use us for His glory.
