I grew up in a very conservative church in Ukraine, so I had very strong legalistic Christian views when I moved to the United States. Upon moving to NYC I was looking a church to join. I chose Redeemer. It wasn’t an easy transition for me since I am a Russian speaking person adjusting to American culture.
I joined a small group and a kid’s ministry at the same time. I should say that the small group had a huge impact, transforming and reshaping my faith. The biggest lesson God taught me is my salvation comes not from how good I can be; it is given to me by grace and that’s what should change my life, not vice versa. I love God more than ever now not because I grew up being taught what to do but because I choose Him every day now.

My life has no meaning without Him. This city offers us anything but only God offers me life in Him. I think I will be ministering Him anywhere He leads me till I meet Him in person. Can’t wait!
