God has used the Gospel to show me his mercy, compassion, and great love for even the city, a place where some argue the most ungodly reside. I’ve learned the amazing grace in the gospel that is: God requires none from us to receive his salvation. This continues to remind me that no goodness I can offer will win me more favor with God. It is in fact my surrendering of my life to God and asking him to shape and mold me into a godly man usable for his purpose. God is willingly to meet me where I am and not where I can be in 6 months in order to have a relationship with him. My lack of true and deeper understanding of the gospel lead me towards believing that I needed to work to earn God’s favor, now I understand that God wants me to come to him with my baggage, give to him my anxieties, and surrender to him my life in order that I can live with his presence and according to his will. I know now that he will change me as I seek his will and not my own.

I am an NYC native saved by grace while I was away at school. I had spent most of my life in New York City and having moved back to NYC after graduating school for work, I struggled to find a christian community as I was utterly jaded from my growing up about the demographics of the city. God used a friend in my life to invite me into the Redeemer community where I was incredibly encouraged by the group of young professionals such as myself who love God and want to follow him. God has blessed me with the Redeemer community to help me continue on in my christian walk.
